Project Brief /

Design a table and construct the table out of hard wood. No screws or nails are allowed to be used, must be put together by using wood glue and your choice of joints, biscuits, or dowels.

Solution /

This design was inspired by modernist design. I wanted to create minimalist, modern side table that had a strong visual impact. The support bars are key for supporting the focal piece of the table while also adding visual interest. The body of the table is birch wood which was stained black, the table top (or focal piece) is wormy maple.
